Andy has been studying photography since she bought her first Pentax in 1987. She graduated from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL in 1995 with a BA in Visual Arts with a focus on Photography and Calligraphy, and went on to study at the Morris College of Journalism of Sussex, England, getting a diploma in Travel Writing and Photography in 1998. Among her favorite learning memories are the time she spent time at the Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, NM in 1993 studying the techniques of Ansel Adams under one of his most esteemed apprentices.
Since moving to Steamboat Springs in 1998, Andy first honed and used her skills as a travel and sports photographer while writing two guidebooks on traveling with a disability with her husband Craig (Access Anything), and has also published her photographs in many travel and sports magazines. In additional, Andy was a staff photographer for Steamboat Ski Area authoring the daily "Straight Talk" report from 2003 to 2009, volunteer photographer for the STARS Adaptive Sports Program from 2010 to 2013, and most recently has made use of her photographic and writing skills in her position of Marketing Director for the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council from 2011 to 2016.
As of 2016, Andy is taking a break from professional photography to focus on Health Coaching through The Juice Plus Company. but she will never totally put the camera down forever and continues to occasionally post her best photos on the AJDesign and Photography Facebook business page.
